The museum is located in a 15th-century building called Custom House. It exhibits: an important collection of paintings with works by Margaritone d’Arezzo, Luca Signorelli, Giorgio Vasari, Rosso Fiorentino, Niccolò of Sansepolcro, Ludovico Caracci; a collection of Hispano-Moresque majolicas (13th to the 18th century); and also sculptures, ivory works, bronzes, coins, medieval seals and jewels. The last room is devoted to the Tuscan "Macchiaioli" and exhibits works by Fattori, Signorini and Cecioni.
