Situated at the foot of Etna on the Ionic coast,

important city of Sicily. An important industrial centre, it even has important
citrus fruit centres in its district.
The ideal seasons in which to visit
Catania are late spring and autumn as the
citrus fruit "gardens" are in full bloom and it is a very evocative spectacle.
Even the summertime is a good time to visit but it is better to avoid the torrid
climate of the beaches and enjoy the cool climate of the hills.
Without overlooking the wide choice available as far as accommodation facilities
are concerned: hotels, farm holiday, farmhouse, residence self-catering
accommodation, b&b, rooms for rent, holiday homes, camp sites and tourist
